IIT Bombay and Coursera launch two certificate programmes – Telegraph India

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, in partnership with Coursera, has launched two new certificate programmes – Digital Transformation and Power Electronics and Motors for Electric Vehicles (EVs).
These programmes will help learners gain technical, managerial, and leadership skills, including strategic decision making, business operations, data management, and Electric Vehicle Technology, improving the overall employability of learners including young professionals for high-demand jobs.
The four-month-long Digital Transformation certification, with live lectures, is designed for non-IT managers leading digital transformation initiatives. The course teaches how to identify opportunities to transform the organisation through strategic implementation of new technologies and builds analytical skills to understand how to implement and execute the right solutions.
It also examines challenges associated with scalability and the decision to build or buy a new technology stack and develop the skills needed to lead new initiatives successfully. The programme will help advance careers, equipping learners to respond to technological disruption impacting businesses rapidly. The programme will be taught by Rajendra Sonar of the Shailesh J Mehta School of Management at IIT Bombay. Senior industry leader Suhrid Brahma will be the Visiting Faculty for the programme.
Power Electronics and Motors for Electric Vehicles (EVs), a 4.5-month certificate programme, helps build essential skills for advancing careers in the field of electric vehicles (EVs). Learners will gain insight into the design and development of new solutions optimised for India’s transportation future. The programme covers courses in Motor Design, Power Converter Design and Motor drives. With the growing demand for qualified professionals with knowledge of energy storage systems and power electronics and a global spotlight on electric vehicles, this course will help learners earn an edge over the competition. This programme will be taught by BG Fernandes, Kishore Chatterjee and Sandeep Anand, all from the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay.
With this partnership, IIT Bombay joins the ranks of more than 170 top universities — including Yale, University of Michigan, Stanford, Imperial College of London, IIT Roorkee, IIM Calcutta, Indian School of Business, Indian Statistical Institute, among others — that offer programmes on Coursera. Coursera’s 87M+ learners across 190 countries will now be able to access IIT Bombay’s job-relevant programmes.
Learners will be able to enroll in both the programmes until November 19, 2021. Classes begin on November 20, 2021.
