Porsche Taycan electric car and Macan facelift launched: Check price in India, specs, price, etc. – Times Now

Porsche has become the fifth luxury carmaker in India to enter the EV field. The brand has launched Taycan in India at ₹1.5 crore (ex-showroom, India). The Taycan electric car is available in two body shapes — Taycan sports saloon and Taycan Gran Turismo crossover. Along with launching its first electric car, the German brand has also launched the 2021 Macan in India at ₹83.21 lakh (ex-showroom, India). It is the facelift model that was globally revealed in July this year. Porsche has also opened its order books for the Taycan and new Macan in India and the deliveries will commence from next year.
Manolito Vujicic, Brand Head, Porsche India, said, “Despite continuously challenging pandemic-related developments, our business performed exceptionally well in this market, chalking up its best Q3 results and making Porsche one of the fastest growing luxury car brands in the country through 2021. Introducing such a revolutionary model as the Taycan and the latest iteration of our popular Macan, to coincide with our dealer expansion is proof positive of the roadmap we are creating for future business growth in India as we invest in new product and facilities throughout 2022. The order books are now open for both Taycan and Macan with first deliveries due early next year.”
The Taycan sports saloon looks very different from other Porsche models though the silhouette reminds us of sports cars like the 911. The Taycan has four-point LED headlights with matrix beam, sie air curtains, a coupe roofline, and a seamless LED strip as the tail light. The saloon four-door saloon also has a rear diffuser and three-stage rear spoiler system. Unlike the exterior which is still reminiscent of some Porsche models, the Taycan has an all-new interior layout loaded to the gills with features. The dashboard includes two different touchscreens and there’s another one on the centre console. Other features on the Taycan includes four-zone climate control system, glass sunroof and more.

Porsche Taycan sports saloon is available with a choice between two battery packs — 79.2 kWh and 93.4 kWh — that can generate up to 751 bhp and offer a range of up to to 484 km/charge.
The new Macan facelift gets a handful of cosmetic tweaks over the predecessor and gets a slightly redesigned interior layout. The SUV is available in three variants — standard, Macan, and Macan GTS. Porsche Macan GTS is powered by a 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo engine making 434.5 bhp, which is an increment of 59 bhp as compared to the predecessor. This variant can go from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds (with Sport Chrono package) and reaches a top speed of 272 km/h. The Macan S, on the other hand, uses the same 2.9-litre V6 engine to generate 375 bhp, which is a bump of 27 bhp as compared to the previous Macan S. This variant can go from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 259 km/h.

The entry-level Macan, however, uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 261 bhp and can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in  6.2 seconds. This engine lets the SUV go all the way to the 232 km/h mark. All the powerplants are offered in combination with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and get Porsche Traction Management all-wheel-drive system.
