One of the state’s top linebackers Ty Kana announced his commitment to Texas Tech on Sunday morning.
The Katy (Texas) High standout is a former USC commit. He took an official to Lubbock this weekend.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Kana is tabbed by the 247Sports Composite as the nation’s No. 53 linebacker and No. 71 prospect overall. He also considered opportunities from the likes Virginia Tech, Washington and Washington State.
Kana is commit No. 13 for Joey McGuire and the new Red Raiders staff in the 2022 cycle.
“I loved everything they had to offer and I believe that Coach McGuire has a strong defensive philosophy and it’s everything scheme wise that I would want to play for,” Kana explained. “The campus was beautiful and I’m looking to take an engineering major so that aspect of the school was also a perfect fit.”
