OnePlus RT is reported to be the next smartphone in the brand’s launch pipeline. It was earlier rumoured that the smartphone would arrive in the month of December in India. Now a new report has aired stating that the OnePlus RT will come on December 16. In addition to that, the smartphone has been spotted on the OnePlus Care app, hinting towards a launch soon. However, we are yet to hear from OnePlus about the upcoming launch.
The OnePlus RT is likely the same device like the OnePlus 9RT launched in China last month. So it is supposed that the smartphone will come with similar specs as the China model. Thus we may see a Snapdragon 888 chipset on the OnePlus RT. It could sport an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. OnePlus RT may be equipped with 50-megapixel triple rear cameras and a 4500mAh battery. Rumours suggest that the OnePlus RT could be priced between Rs 40,000 to Rs 44,000. While that was a brief introduction to the OnePlus RT, we have more details to share with you, so let’s get started.
–The OnePlus RT is rumoured to be the be OnePlus 9RT launched in China last year. Since the China launch, we have been seeing multiple leaks hinting towards the India launch soon. However, we learnt that the OnePlus RT, aka OnePlus 9RT, might arrive in December. There wasn’t any launch date yet, but now we may have one as tipster Max Jambor suggests that the launch could take place on December 16. OnePlus usually starts teasing its smartphones weeks before the actual launch event. So it’s strange that there has been no word from OnePlus around the OnePlus RT launch.
–That OnePlus RT has been spotted on multiple websites. In the most recent one, it was found on the OnePlus Care App. The name of the device appeared as OnePlus 9RT on the app. But then the smartphone was also seen in an Amazon ad with the OnePlus RT moniker. So there’s still not a lot of clarity as far as the name is concerned.
–Considering the OnePlus RT is a rebranded OnePlus 9RT, we expect to see a similar design and specs as the China model. The OnePlus RT is likely to feature a rectangular camera island on the rear with a OnePlus logo. While on the front, it could get a flat punch-hole camera display.
–As far as specs are concerned, the OnePlus 9RT may sport a 6.62-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone could feature Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset. OnePlus may offer this device in multiple configurations, with the top model getting up to 12GB RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.
–OnePlus didn’t ship the OnePlus 9RT with Hasselblad cameras, so we are unlikely to see the same on the Indian model. The upcoming OnePlus RT could get triple rear cameras, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. While on the front, it may feature a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies.
–The OnePlus RT could be offered with a 4500mAh battery with support for 65W charging. OnePlus is likely to use an in-display fingerprint scanner on this smartphone. 5G support will also be available on this device.
–The OnePlus RT will be the first big device post the merger of OnePlus and Oppo. This is expected to bring a few changes, with the most significant being on the software front. As part of these changes, we will see a unified OS on the OnePlus 10 Pro developed by the fusion of ColorOS and OxygenOS.
There have been several leaks around the launch of the OnePlus RT, with most of them hinting towards a December launch. In a more recent leak, Max Jambor hinted towards a launch on December 16. However, the OnePlus is yet to reveal any details about the device.
This is surprising as the brand usually starts teasing its devices way ahead of the launch event.
The OnePlus 9RT was launched in China at a starting price of CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs. 38,600). While the India price is unknown yet, a tipster hinted towards the price likely between Rs 40,000 and Rs 44,000.
