Over the last few years, Realme has earned a reputation for coming up with innovative designs for their smartphones. Realme launched its latest flagship Realme GT 2 Pro series in China this week.
Now the Shenzhen-based company also unveiled a special Dragon Ball Z Edition of the Realme GT 2 that is expected to arrive soon. The images unveiled by the company showed the design of the Realme GT Neo 2 Dragon Ball Z Limited Edition smartphone.
It features a glass back with an orange and blue paint job in a matte finish. The frame of the device is also blue-coloured. The colour scheme on the Dragon Ball Edition reminds us of the protagonist, Goku’s outfit from the popular anime series.
Another special detail is animation for charging with the 65 W SuperDart accessory. While the 5,000 mAh battery is being recharged, the device shows the protagonist transforming into a Super Saiyan.

The lock screen also has the character, themed and custom icons in the style of the drawing, and even the seven dragon balls. Despite having “GT” in the name, the entire custom look of Realme’s smartphone is based on Goku’s character from Dragon Ball Z and not the later Dragon Ball GT.

The Realme GT Neo 2 Dragon Ball Edition even has items inspired by Goku’s final transformation in Dragon Ball Z, Super Saiyan 3. Those who enjoy Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Z will certainly like this version.
The finish of the smartphone even includes the famous “wisdom/enlightenment” kanji alongside the phone’s camera module. It is a signature symbol of Goku throughout the show, signifying the wisdom he gained after completing his intensive training onboard his spaceship on his way to Namek.
Realme CMO Francis Wong took to Twitter to ask fans if they want the company to launch the new special colorway in India and Europe as well. Knowing Realme, it’s easy to understand that this is more a teaser than a simple question. Based on this, we can expect the Realme GT Neo 2 Dragon Ball Edition to launch soon in India.
The Realme GT Neo2 was launched back in September in India. It flaunts a 6.62-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution. It has up to 120 Hz refresh rate, up to 1,300 nits brightness, HDR10+, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 coating.
The display has a punch-hole cutout at the top-left corner and houses an under-glass fingerprint scanner. Under the hood, the GT Neo2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 octa-core SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
It has a triple camera system with a 64 megapixel main lens, an 8 megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and lastly a 2 megapixel macro sensor. Upfront, it has a 16 megapixel selfie camera. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery and supports 65W fast charging.
It offers a Type-C charging port, NFC, and a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. Realme has already started rolling out the Android 12 update for the handset with its Realme UI 3.0 Early access program.
