Tech dies after falling down Dillard’s escalator in Richmond – WAVY.com

RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) — A man has died following a Wednesday morning incident at a Dillard’s in Richmond.

According to Richmond officials, the maintenance tech was working on the escalator at the Dillard’s store at Stony Point Fashion Park when he fell down the shaft. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found the man unresponsive.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Richmond’s technical rescue team is on the scene working to learn more and recover the body.
Virginia’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A person has been sent to the hospital following a stabbing incident in Norfolk Wednesday afternoon.
According to Norfolk Police, the call for the stabbing came in just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Herbert Collins Way.
ABINGDON, Va. (WJHL) – A Big Stone Gap man was sentenced to 228 months in federal prison for his role in conspiring to traffic methamphetamine from Georgia into Southwest Virginia, according to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
A release from the DOJ states that Jonathan Rollins, 39, pleaded guilty in October 2021 to the following charges:
