To provide a convenient transport facility for airport commuters, Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) is going to launch shuttle bus services next week.
The shuttle service will ply between the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT), Sector 17, and the Chandigarh International Airport, Mohali.
The UT officials decided to launch the service next week after the assembly polls as the election code of conduct is in force in Punjab and the airport falls under the Mohali district.
The bus service will be available at a frequency of 20 minutes to a maximum of 40 minutes.
The service will start from ISBT-17 at 4.20 am and the operation will end at 11.40 pm. Similarly, the bus will leave the airport at 5.20 am and the last bus will depart from the airport at 12.55 am, according to a report published in The Times of India (TOI).
In addition to this, the CTU buses timings will be synchronised with the arrival and departure of the flights at the airport.
Pradhuman Singh, UT transport director, said, “There would be a flat ticket fare of Rs 100 per person for any of the stoppages. A CTU service counter has been set up at the airport, which will guide commuters about the shuttle as well as other long-route intercity bus services.”
