After New Baleno; Maruti To Launch 5 New Cars In 2022 – India Car News

Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the new Baleno and the WagonR facelift in the country. The new Baleno comes with significantly revised design and all-new feature-loaded cabin. The big change comes in the form of safety, as the platform and the body panels have been upgraded with thicker steel. Not just Baleno, MSIL is also planning to launch a wide range of new models in the next 10 months, and here’s the list –
Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the new Ertiga facelift in the month of March 2022. The new model will receive minimal design and interior changes; however, the engine-gearbox options are likely to remain the same. The new model will get new front grille, new exterior colour options and new wheels. It will be powered by a 103bhp, 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid system. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
MSIL will also launch the new XL6 facelift in the next few months. The new model will receive significant design changes and upgraded cabin. It will come with all-new front grille and bumper. The XL6 facelift will have new alloy wheels, new rear bumper and revised lighting system. The company could introduce the 7-seater version of the XL6, which will have bench-type seat in the second row. It will be powered by the same 103bhp, 1.5L petrol engine with manual and a new 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Maruti Suzuki will introduce new Brezza sub-4 meter SUV in the country in April 2022. The new model will retain the existing platform; however, it will have some design changes and an all-new interior. The SUV will have a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital instrument console, 6 airbags, ESP, hill start assist, an electric sunroof and others. It will be powered by a 1.5L petrol engine with manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The SUV will also come with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
Suzuki and Toyota JV is working on an all-new mid-sized SUV for the Indian market. To be produced at Toyota’s Bidadi based plant, the new SUV will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. The new Maruti mid-sized SUV will be based on Toyota’s DNGA platform that underpins the Toyota Raize and the new Avanza. It will be powered by Toyota’s hybrid powertrain along with a regular petrol engine. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to further expand its CNG line-up in the country. The company is testing the CNG powered Swift and the Dzire, which are expected to be launched in the next 6 months. The CNG versions will be powered by a 12L petrol engine. In CNG mode, the power and torque figures will drop by 11bhp and 18Nm respectively. The 2021 Maruti Swift CNG and Dzire CNG will offer power worth 70bhp at 6,000rpm and 95Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. No other changes will be made to the vehicles.
