• Georgia Tech baseball is coming off winning its second-straight ACC series win by downing UNC on the road to return home for an eight-game home stretch, beginning with Mercer on Tuesday, April 19.
• The matchup marks the 173rd meeting between the two programs since 1897, with Georgia Tech leading the series 115-57.
• Finally back at 100 percent healthy, the Jackets has been unstoppable at the plate the last two weeks and continue to be one of the top offenses in the nation, currently ranked No. 2 in the country with 438 hits on the year.
• Tech also ranks third in average (.323), third in runs (353), fourth in home runs (71) and slugging (.549), and seventh in scoring (9.5). They also rank 10th in on-base percentage (.421).
• For the second-straight week, a Georgia Tech hitter won both National Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week as Tim Borden II took swept the awards winning after six hits, a double, four home runs and 11 RBI.
• Winning the awards last week was Kevin Parada is the nation’s leader in home runs at 18 and total bases at 123, while also co-leading the nation in RBI (59). He also co-leads the ACC and ranks eighth nationally with 60 hits alongside teammate Andrew Jenkins.
• Parada also ranks fourth in runs (50), 13th in slugging (.778)
• Also red-hot at the plate are Chandler Simpson (.473), Andrew Jenkins (.407), Tim Borden II (.339), Tres Gonzalez (.323), and Drew Compton (.294).
• Georgia Tech currently owns the No. 2 strength of schedule in the country (.608) behind only Dallas Baptist (.613). Tech’s opponents thus far have an combined win percentage of .640.
• The next closest ACC teams in SOS are No. 4 Florida State (.600), No. 12 Duke (.576), No. 22 UNC (.566), No. 25 Clemson (.564) and No. 29 Miami (.559).
• Georgia Tech’s RPI is also one of the strongest in the nation at No. 7. The Jackets hold the ACC’s second-highest RPI (No. 4 Miami).
