The Toyota Fortuner GR-S version is priced at Rs 48.43 lakh in India (ex-showroom). The new model is positioned even higher than the Legender trim, which was formerly the top-of-the-line model.

The GR-S variant is priced at Rs 3.8 lakh more than the Legender and can be had in a single top-spec 4×4 variant.
On the exterior, the new Toyota Fortuner GR-S differs from the normal Fortuner models in a number of ways. It has blacked-out alloy wheels and a two-tone radiator grille for a sportier look. GR emblems may also be seen on the grille, fenders, and boot lid. Inside, an all-black upholstery with red stitching, GR badging on the steering wheel start-stop button, a redesigned instrument cluster, and sharper-looking pedals complement the sportier exterior concept.
While there are no mechanical changes, Toyota has improved the suspension. The SUV’s suspension has been tweaked by GR, so we should expect a change in ride quality compared to the normal model. The Fortuner GR-S is powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine that produces 201PS and 500 Nm of peak torque. The GR-S comes equipped with a four-wheel drive and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Inside, the car has received visual modifications to give it a sportier appearance, as well as lots of GR badging. The seats are black leather and suede with red stitching and GR badges on the headrest. The instrument panel and centre console have a distinctive trim finish, and the steering wheel has the GR emblem on it as well.
Little has changed in terms of standard amenities over the normal Legender, which include dual-zone temperature control, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, linked car tech, a JBL audio system, a gesture-controlled tailgate, stability control, 7 airbags and traction control, to mention a few.
