Bajaj Auto has expanded the availability of the Chetak electric scooter with the introduction of the model in Solapur, Maharashtra. The electric scooter will be offered in a single variant, Premium, and it has been priced at Rs 1,34,814 (ex-showroom). It will be available in four colours — Brooklyn Black, Hazel Nut, Indigo Metallic, and Velluto Rosso. The scooter is currently available in 24 states.
Interested buyers can book the Chetak online for a token amount of Rs 2,000. The electric scooter will be available via KTM Solapur. It uses a 3.8kW electric motor and a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack. The top speed is rated at 70kmph while the claimed range stands at 90km (in Eco mode).
In other updates, Bajaj Auto reportedly plans to expand its electric vehicle range. The company is planning to launch new electric vehicles in the low and mid-speed segments. While the details are scarce, we expect the company to use the Chetak architecture and develop a low-cost model.
