Yamaha Japan has launched the X-Force on its home turf. The Aerox 155‘s new sibling packs quite some equipment and here’s what you should know about it.
On the styling front, the X-Force boasts a very sharp fascia that houses a split LED headlight topped by a smoked visor. It gets a flat footboard unlike the Aerox 155, which should aid in the leg-room and storage as well.
Yamaha has plonked a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor with VVA in the X-Force. It’s the same setup as the Aerox 155, R15 V4, and MT-15. It belts out 14.7 bhp and 14Nm, identical to the India-spec Aerox. Moreover, the X-Force gets a bevvy of features too. Apart from the LED illumination, it’s equipped with traction control, a USB port and offers Bluetooth compatibility too. The latter allows you to pair your smartphone to the vehicle’s LCD and get access to call/SMS notifications and more.
The X-Force is suspended on conventional telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a 267mm front disc and a 230mm rear unit with dual-channel ABS. It rides on a 120/70 front tyre and a 130/70 rear wrapped on 13-inch alloys.
In Japan, the X-Force retails at JPY 3,96,000 (approximately Rs 2.30 lakh excluding taxes). Compared to the Aerox-155’s asking price of Rs 1.38 lakh, the X-Force is pretty expensive while offering just a tad more features. That said, the odds of Yamaha bringing it to India are very bleak.
