Renault To Launch Next-Gen Duster & Bigster 7-Seater SUV In 2024-25 – India Car News

We informed you earlier that Renault is working on two brand new SUVs including the next-gen Duster and the Bigster concept-based SUV. The next-gen Duster is also reportedly to be launched in the Indian market. A new media reports claim that Dacia, Renault’s subsidiary has started working on the next-gen Duster SUV. The new model is expected to be launched in 2024.
The report further claims that the Dacia Bigster concept based 3-row SUV will be launched by 2025. The new Duster and Bigster SUVs will be designed and developed on the Renault-Nissan alliance’s CMF-B platform that underpins the Renault Clio, Captur, Arkana, Nissan Juke and the new Nissan Note.
What’s interesting is that the next-gen Renault Duster for India is reportedly to be based on CMF-B LS platform, which is a low specifications platform. This platform currently underpins budget models in B-segment or subcompact segment. This platform replaces the BO and MO platform, former underpins the previous Duster. The new CMF-B LS platform currently underpins the Dacia models including the Logan, Sandero, Taliant and Jogger.
The next-gen Renault Duster will come with new design, feature loaded cabin and efficient powertrain options. The new Duster project is already in the development phase in Europe, where it is marketed under the Dacia brand. It is expected that the concept version of the Duster could be unveiled in 2023. The all-new Renault Duster will be ready by the end of 2023, and is expected to be launched in 2024.
It is expected that the next-gen Renault Duster will be a reduced version of the Bigster SUV, which was first showcased in the concept avatar. The production ready 7-seater Bigster SUV is likely to be launched in Brazil in 2024-25. The Bigster SUV will be based on the CMF-B platform, which is versatile enough to accommodate different body styles as well as powertrain options including hybrid and electric. Renault officials claim that the third-gen Duster will be the ever made and will be the first with hybrid powertrain.
The new Renault Duster will share the styling cues with the Bigster concept. It is claimed to offer a high price-to-feature ratio and several new age technologies. European media claims that the new model will come with a hybrid powertrain with a 4×4 drivetrain. The petrol engine will power the front wheels and an electric motor to be placed to the rear axle to provide traction to wheels on difficult terrains. The new Duster could receive a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol with a 48V hybrid system that offers a combined power output of 130bhp. The SUV could also offer the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine.
Renault ground claims that the new Dacia Bigster SUV will be the first model to feature the brand’s new logo. Dacia has also filed a trademark for the new badge design, which is claimed to have a minimalist font. The new badge will appear on the Dacia’s future models. The new Dacia Bigster is reportedly to be positioned against the likes of the Skoda Karoq and the Volkswagen Tiguan. However, the size of the SUV will make it an indirect rival to bigger SUVs like the Skoda Kodiaq.
