Established in 2015, Okinawa Autotech Pvt Ltd is currently India’s second-largest electric two-wheeler manufacturer in terms of sales. Which makes Okinawa one of the fastest-growing electric two-wheeler company in India. And this has been possible because of their wide range of scooters that target almost every price range of electric scooters in the Country.
And after electric scooters, it is now all set to take its first step into electric motorcycles. with their Okinawa OKHI 100 electric Bike. The first prototype of the OKHI 100 debuted at the 2018 Auto Expo and later at the 2020 Auto Expo. and It was announced for the festive season launch. However, due to the Kovid-19 pandemic, this launch kept getting delayed. Which is now expected in March 2023.
Table of Contents
Okinawa OKHI 100 is a compact size electric bike. The design is similar to the one we saw on Honda Navi launched back in 2016. Despite being a compact electric motorcycle, a lot of attention has been given to its design. raised tail, red painted body frame, Front and Read dual disk brakes, and The way the rear mud flap is positioned clearly indicates that the design is inspired by a full-size naked sports bike.
But there is one such thing in all this that becomes quite controversial and that is its front headlight which is actually halogen light. And the Interesting thing is that except for the headlight, LEDs have been used everywhere in the entire motorcycle.
When the prototype was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, it had a 60 Ah 73 V battery pack. But there is a high chance that it will get a new and better battery pack in the March launch. Whose range should be around 150 km charge. perhaps the 2.5 kW electric motor shown in that prototype might continue. And with the help of this motor, this bike will be able to achieve a max top speed of 100 kmph.
The prototype shown at the 2018 Auto Expo took almost two hours to charge from 0-100%. But if the battery changes at the time of launch, the charging time will also change.
Currently, the only direct competitor of the Okinawa OKHI 100  is the Joy E-Bike Monster. But if we consider the price wise, then its rivalry includes electric bikes like Revolt RV 400, Tork Kartos, Komaki MX3, Pop Oxo, and Oben Rorr.
The expected starting price of Okinawa OKHI 100 could be around ₹1.00 lakh to ₹1.20 lakh (Ex-Showroom).
