Tata Punch EV to be launched in India – India Today

By Auto Today: Tata Motors, which currently leads the electric passenger vehicle (PV) segment in India, is working on the Punch EV, according to multiple media reports. The homegrown auto major sells the Nexon EV, Tigor EV and the recently-launched Tiago EV.
In the electric PV market, Tata Motors had a share of 87% in FY22. The company showcased the concept version of the Curvv EV and the Avinya EV earlier this year in April. By CY26, it will have as many as 10 electric models in its portfolio.
The Tata Punch, along with the Tata Nexon, has recorded handsome volumes throughout the year. The two SUVs have propelled Tata Motors to the top of the SUV rankings in CY22. During the January-November period, the company cumulatively sold 326,354 units of SUVs in the domestic market.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles' sales, marketing and customer care vice president Rajan Amba recently told India Today that the SUV segment has been driven by the Punch and the Nexon for the company.
The Tata Punch is also the first model in the industry to reach the sales milestone of 100,000 units in 11 months. The sub-compact SUV gets a 1.2-litre Revotron naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which develops 86PS of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. The transmission options include 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT.
While the ICE variant of the Punch is priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 8.94 lakh (ex-showroom), the Punch EV might be positioned between the Nexon EV and the Tigor EV.
