Maruti Suzuki showcased their all-new SUV Jimny a the Auto Expo this year. The 5-door version of Jimny is first showcased in India and bookings for the same had also started from the day it was unveiled. Jimny has a large fan following around the world and India is no different. Maruti has till date received over 9,000 bookings for Maruti Jimny and the booking amount for the same is Rs 25,000. The launch timeline for the Jimny SUV has now been revealed. As per media reports, Maruti Suzuki is expected to announce the prices of the Jimny 5-door SUV in the first quarter of FY2023.
The Maruti Jimny is a topic of discussion on the internet. Many people have been eagerly waiting for this SUV for years now. Although Maruti was manufacturing the Jimny 3-door in India however, the car was only meant for exports. The official car meant for India is the 5-door version and Maruti Suzuki has first showcased the 5-door version in India. The Financial year 2023 starts on April this year and this means, Maruti is likely to launch the new Jimny anywhere between April to June this year. As Maruti has already revealed all the details regarding the SUV, it is likely that Maruti will be announcing the prices soon.

As mentioned above, This is the first time Suzuki Jimny is being offered in a 5-door avatar. Maruti Suzuki has made several changes to the car to present it a proper 5-door vehicle. It is not simply an extended version of the 3-door version. Although it has a longer wheelbase than the 3-door version, it is still an extremely capable SUV off-road. Maruti Suzuki is offering the Jimny with a proper 4×4 system as well. like many other 4×4 SUVs, Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a ladder-on frame SUV. The exterior design of the SUV is similar to the three door-version. The 5-d00r version however does come with some chrome outlines on the front grille.
The interior of the SUV gets Maruti Suzuki’s new touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, fabric seats, cruise control, round instrument cluster with digital MID in the middle. Currently this is the only 4×4 SUV in Maruti’s line-up. The SUV is 3,985mm, a width of 1,645mm and 1,720mm tall. It offers a ground clearance of 210 mm which is sufficient for off-roading. Jimny’s approach angle is 36 degrees, ramp break-over is 24 degrees, and departure is 50 degrees. Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door is available with a petrol engine only. It is using the same K15B engine as the 3-door version.
The K15B engine is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 103 Bhp and 134 Nm of peak torque. The car is available with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission option. Maruti will be offering the Jimny 5-door in Pearl Arctic White, Kinetic Yellow, Granite Grey, Bluish Black, Sizzling Red and Nexa Blue shades. Dual-tone options are also available with some of these shades. The Maruti Jimny will compete with cars like Mahindra Thar is currently the most popular 4×4 SUV in the country.
