With India pushing towards the target of 100 per cent Electric Vehicle Nation by 2030, Boom Motors launched the Boom Corbett electric two-wheeler at a price of Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom, India). Touted as India’s most durable and long-lasting bike, the new Boom Corbett electric two-wheeler is not only fully designed and developed in India for Indian driving conditions, but also the first EV company to introduce swappable smart batteries with portable chargers. Boom Motors opened the pre-bookings for the Boom Corbett electric two-wheeler at an initial token amount of 3,000, with the deliveries to commence from January 2022.
Anirudh Ravi Narayanan, CEO, Boom Motors said, “In order to fuel the transition to EVs, Boom Motors believes that vehicles should offer value, convenience, and peace of mind to the customer only then will they switch en masse. To demonstrate our best-in-class value, Boom Motors is the first EV company to offer customers to purchase our vehicles for 5-year EMI. Rates will start at Rs 1,699 per month, which is less than what many people spend on petrol. For convenience, we are offering a swappable battery with a portable charger that will allow the bike to be charged anywhere.”
The Boom Corbett electric two-wheeler features a 2.3kWh battery as well as an optional 4.6kWh battery pack that promises a range of up to 200km on a single charge. The batteries are swappable and come with a portable charger that can plug into household sockets. The vehicle can hit a top speed of 75kmph with the two-battery option, and supports 200kg loading, and can climb the steepest gradients. The Boom Corbett electric two-wheeler is built on an exo-skeletal double-cradle chassis made of high-tensile steel.
Boom Motors is also the first EV company to offer customers to purchase its Boom Corbett electric two-wheeler for a 5-year EMI plan of Rs 1,699 per month. The company also claims to have built the best battery tech in India and is completely fire-proof with a very long-lasting life span. Additionally, the company is also offering a 5-year warranty on it. The online booking requires a Rs 499 deposit.
